Lucy O'Connell
Qualified Counsellor
Hi, my name is Lucy and I am a Qualified Counsellor.
I am currently extending my counselling training to work with children and young people from the age of 11 as I am eager to support and develop positive mental health and resilience from as early as possible.

I am passionate about supporting people to fulfil their potential – being there to walk alongside someone rather than telling them what to do. It is a really courageous step to admit there is something causing you emotional pain and I am willing to sit with you to really listen – to your feelings, experiences and needs. I will work with you to explore how and why you are feeling the way you do and support you to find your own answers because that is where the real magic happens!

My approach is person centred and I enjoy working creatively. You are at the heart of the process and I will be there with you on your journey to understand your experiences so that you can flourish. The relationship that we build will be supportive, confidential and non-judgemental giving you the space to really explore the whole you and be accepted for it.

I have a particular interest in and experience of working with trauma, health anxieties and loss. My counselling background is predominately in supporting individuals within a cancer setting.
