On a day like today where I haven’t had clients booked in, I would normally sit in front of my laptop all day doing admin and ‘busy’ work, like tweaking my website or researching something random or trying not to buy another book!
Instead, I have been swimming, relaxed in a hot tub, sunbathed on a lounger in the sun, read, been to an exercise class. I am so proud of myself! 🧘🩱🤍
Last week, we joined Branston Golf and Country Club – something I’ve wanted to do for the last two years. I’ve gone back and forth on it plenty of times as it’s a bit more expensive than the £15.99 a month I paid for The Gym! But with my husband’s health issues and new obsession with golf, it felt like the right time. It feels like a lifestyle change for our family. Time to look after ourselves better, be more active and spend more quality time together. The money we pay for this, we could quite easily blow it on a meal out or a couple of takeaways.
I’ve just started a 6 month business course with Lenka Lutonska and last week we had to take another look at the limiting beliefs we have about ourselves and our business (these are the things that get in the way of us taking that next step, limiting us). I realised, despite doing lots of work on this over the years, my ‘not good enough’ belief still pops from time to time especially in my business, along with plenty of others!
We have been using the RARE journaling process to help shift them which has been really helpful. Once you’ve identified a limiting belief, complete the following steps…
R – Recognise – first recognise the belief without judgement and write it down
A – Acknowledge – acknowledge that you are not the belief and that it is just a belief, not fact
R – Reframe and Reassure – Listen to your higher mind not your ego (the part of your mind that constantly tries to protect you, that can be negative and critical), challenge the belief and find evidence to back up that it may not be true. Be kind and nurturing to yourself while reframing this belief.
E – Embody a new belief – Think of a belief that you would like to have instead that is more empowering. It may just be the opposite of the first. Ask yourself…
What evidence do I have that backs up this new belief? How can I begin to embody this new belief? What decisions would I make if I truly believed this new belief? How would I live? Who would I have in my life? Who would I spend time with?
So, I worked through mine. There was absolutely no evidence to back up my ‘not good enough’ belief. The new belief that I wanted to adopt and embed was, ‘I am successful business owner’. To embody this, I made the decision to sign up to Branston! That is what my higher self would do! Successful business owners would take time in the week for self-care and be members of somewhere like that.
Now, I’m not telling you this to brag. I think it will take a little time for me to really lean into it as it still felt uncomfortable to spend so much time and money on myself, (especially in the week when I should be working!) As I lay there today, I felt overwhelmed with gratitude that I got to be somewhere like that. I found myself turning it into work though, as I meticulously planned the timings of my relaxation activities! Luckily, I caught myself and just decided to be present, grateful and trust that when I’d had enough, I would do something else.
I want you to think about what you believe about yourself 🤔🤔🤔.
Where are you playing small?
Where are you hiding?
Where are you keeping yourself stuck?
Where does your behaviour and the decisions you make reinforce your limiting beliefs?
🖤If you believed you were good enough and worth it, what one decision would you make today? What is one thing you could do to embody this belief? 🖤
The thing is, if you keep telling yourself the story that you’re not good enough or you’re not worth it, your mind will constantly find evidence to back that up. If you tell yourself you ARE good enough and worth it, you will start seeing evidence that backs that too! It’s a bit like a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you are trying to install a new healthy, empowering belief but you are living on takeaways, staying up late watching Netflix, drinking/smoking too much, your brain won’t believe it and it won’t stick!
Your thoughts and behaviour need to be in line. The more aligned you are with your beliefs, the higher your energy vibration, the more likely you are to attract other high vibe opportunities and people.
Since I made the decision that this is what a successful business owner would do, I have been inundated with enquiries from new clients but also from some of my beautiful clients that I’ve worked with previously, that are ready to take things to the next level. I truly believe in the power of the Universe. When you are ready to receive, the Universe will deliver.
It’s time to let go of what isn’t serving you, lovely and become the person you were meant to be.
Everything you want, you would have if you accepted that you are already everything you need to be.
Have a magical week, you beautiful people 🌈💜🎉
